Sophia Cottage which dates from the early 19th century is situated in a quiet terrace - a few minutes’ walk from the city centre but set well back from the road by a long garden.
The cottage is a family friendly house; well behaved dogs are also very welcome with plenty of nearby dog walks.
Accommodation comprises two double bedrooms in the main house and a single ensuite bathroom/ bedroom in a small self-contained annexe at the rear of the property. The large front bedroom has a super king-size double and the smaller back bedroom - a standard double with a wash hand basin; both rooms have plenty of drawer and hanging space. The single rear bedroom has its own wet shower room and w.c. and also has a small built-in mini kitchen - making it entirely self-contained and perfect for a teenager. There is also rear access to the back lane through a separate gate.
On the ground floor there is a large comfortable front sitting room, equipped with Samsung smart TV, and an adjoining small dining room with seating for six people. The fully-equipped galley kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, gas hob and electric oven. There is also an iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner and brushes etc. A washing machine and separate dryer are situated in a small exterior utility room.
The upstairs bathroom has a bath, with excellent shower, a hand basin and a WC.
All sheets and towels are provided.
The cottage also benefits from a fast wi-fi connection.
The front garden has a very sunny patio with a BBQ and seating overlooking the cathedral and there is also a small seating area in the back yard.
Truro still has a wide variety of shops: Marks & Spencer, Co-Op and Tesco are a few minutes' walk away while Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Lidl are a few minutes' away by car. There is also an excellent cinema; a wonderful recently totally refurbished theatre – the Hall for Cornwall and a large variety of pubs; bars and restaurants.
Transport links are good: the railway station is a 10-minute walk or a three-minute drive, with frequent mainline connections to London, the North and west to Penzance, the bus station is a five-minute walk with excellent connections all over Cornwall. Newquay airport is a 20-minute drive away, with daily flights to Gatwick and Heathrow. In summer a ferry to Falmouth and St Mawes runs from the town quay at high tide, a few minutes' walk away, and from Malpas at low tide, a five-minute drive away.
